Revolut Launches EURR to Bring Euro-Denominated Value On-Chain

Revolut launches EURR, integrating regulated euro-denominated stablecoin infrastructure across payments, FX and crypto.

Revolut introduced EURR, a euro denominated stablecoin designed to extend its existing payments, foreign exchange and crypto services into blockchain based money movement. A phased rollout begins in August 2026 on Ethereum for eligible customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, with wider availability expected later in the year. EURR is designed to maintain a stable value of €1.00 and gives customers another way to move value between fiat currencies, crypto, external wallets and supported blockchain networks.

The launch builds on Revolut's position as a financial platform serving more than 75 million customers across over 40 markets. As stablecoins develop beyond their early use in crypto trading, Revolut is integrating them into the financial services customers already use, beginning with a currency that is widely used across its European customer base.

Bringing Euro Denominated Value On Chain

Most widely used stablecoins are denominated in US dollars, while many Revolut customers earn, save and spend in euros. EURR gives those customers an option to hold and move euro denominated value on chain without first converting it into a dollar denominated stablecoin.

The product is intended to complement Revolut's existing currency exchange and international transfer services. Customers who choose to use blockchain based money can move between conventional euros and EURR within the broader Revolut environment, while also connecting with external wallets and supported blockchain networks.

How EURR Is Structured

  • Currency and Value: EURR is denominated in euros and is designed to maintain a stable value of €1.00.

  • Issuer: EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Stripe company. Revolut therefore provides the customer facing offering and integration, while Bridge Building is the legal issuer of the token.

  • Blockchain: EURR is launching on Ethereum as part of the initial phased rollout.

  • Initial Availability: The first phase is open to eligible Revolut customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal. Revolut expects additional markets to follow later in 2026.

  • Customer Use: EURR provides an on-chain option for moving between fiat money, crypto, external wallets and supported blockchain networks.

The Regulatory Structure

  • EURR is a euro pegged electronic money token issued by Bridge Building S.A. Bridge Building is regulated by Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier as a crypto asset service provider and electronic money institution.

  • EURR is offered to Revolut customers through Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd, which is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as a MiCA crypto asset service provider.

  • The arrangement creates a clear division of responsibilities. Bridge Building issues the stablecoin, while Revolut integrates it into its platform and makes it available to eligible customers.

🚨 What This Signals for the Financial Sector

EURR illustrates how stablecoins can be incorporated into an existing financial platform rather than offered only as standalone crypto products. Revolut is placing euro denominated blockchain money alongside services it already provides across payments, foreign exchange and digital assets.

The structure is also notable because Revolut is working with a regulated third party issuer rather than issuing EURR directly. This provides a practical example of a participation model in which a financial platform manages customer access and product integration while a regulated partner assumes the formal issuing role.

The development of stablecoins linked to additional currencies also shows that Revolut is approaching stablecoins as a broader currency infrastructure initiative rather than a single euro product.
