The user decides how much authority to delegate before the agent starts buying. That could make instructions such as “buy this item if the price falls below $90” useful beyond sending a price alert. The agent could complete the purchase within an agreed budget. Link already gives Stripe a consumer wallet. Customers can save payment methods and reuse them across supported checkouts. Stripe’s documentation describes support for cards and bank accounts, with other methods available depending on eligibility. In April 2026, Stripe extended that wallet to agents. Link’s agent wallet could generate a one-time card or Shared Payment Token backed by an existing payment method. The agent could complete a purchase without receiving the customer’s underlying card details. With Link Agent Wallet, AI agents such as Muse, Grok’s Bot, and Instinct can already make purchases on behalf of consumers using payment credentials issued through Link. Link Balance adds a funded source of money for that relationship. A user can give an agent a defined amount to work with, alongside a per-purchase limit. | Finextra
This integration provides eligible consumers with a simpler way to authenticate online payments using their device unlock method. Authentication is essential to secure online payments, but additional steps can introduce friction at a critical point in the customer journey. Visa Payment Passkey is designed to make that experience simpler while providing stronger protection against fraud and phishing attacks. As the authentication landscape fragments, Authenticate acts as an intelligence layer on top. As a core module of Adyen Uplift, a suite designed to optimize the full payment funnel using AI, Authenticate uses machine learning to decide whether to authenticate a transaction, which method will perform best, and what data to share with the issuer. By adding Visa Payment Passkey as one of the many paths Authenticate can route to, merchants benefit from the latest innovations without needing a new integration each time one launches. | Adyen
SNB Group, Nedbank, I&M Bank, and Attijariwafa Bank are also working to offer the benefits assistant to their customers. Together, this will provide access across multiple markets, reflecting growing interest in more intuitive and personalized benefits experiences. Additionally, Citi is exploring opportunities to bring Mastercard Max to its customers in Singapore and Hong Kong. Mastercard Max brings together conversational AI and benefit content from both Mastercard and the issuer to create a more intelligent and personalized experience. Cardholders can ask about their benefits in their own words and get clear, relevant answers and helpful guidance on what their card offers. For issuers, Mastercard Max offers a simpler way to activate the benefits they already provide. The solution is designed to integrate easily with existing issuer experiences while minimizing development effort. Mastercard manages the agent models, content and orchestration that power the experience, enabling issuers to deliver an intelligent benefits assistant without the burden of building and maintaining it themselves. | Mastercard
Mastercard wants AI shopping agents to use tokenized versions of consumers’ chosen cards. Mastercard Agent Pay, which incorporates tokenization, is being used by Shopify’s Shop Pay and is included in the new OpenAI agreement. Use of Agent Pay and having a registered agent is a key thing. The other thing is merchants need to be actually discoverable because then the other side of the transaction really isn’t working. Also, Mastercard and TenPay Global signed a memorandum of understanding for a proposed collaboration that spans QR acceptance for international visitors in the Chinese mainland, remittances into the Weixin/WeChat ecosystem and AI-enabled commerce. In terms of AI-enabled commerce, Mastercard and TenPay Global will explore solutions such as Mastercard Agent Pay, Mastercard Agent Connect and Virtual C-Suite. | PYMNTS
That company issues a single-use virtual card for agents connected to the cardholder’s account. Shopify announced last month that it had begun allowing browser agents to check out on the websites of its eligible merchants. The company had already permitted agents to search through items, browse collections and add products to a cart through structured tools using the platform’s support for WebMCP for storefront and carts. | PYMNTS
The new functionality allows users to fund their OnePay Checking accounts using USDC, which is then automatically converted into U.S. dollars and credited to their balance. At launch, the service supports USDC across 12 blockchain networks, specifically naming Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo, with the company stating it will evaluate the addition of further stablecoins over time. The process is managed through the "Cash Control" section of the OnePay app. When a user sends USDC from an external wallet or exchange to the provided deposit address, the funds arrive as U.S. dollars without the need for a separate stablecoin balance. This integration is built upon Stripe’s stablecoin orchestration platform, Bridge. Bridge handles the creation of secure deposit addresses, conducts compliance checks, and executes the conversion to fiat. | Merchant’s Eye
The agreement establishes a shared vision to facilitate faster, lower-cost transactions between the two economies. Central to this initiative is Canada’s Real-Time Rail (RTR), a national payment system currently being prepared for launch. The RTR is designed as a high-speed, 24/7/365 digital highway for data-rich payments, serving as a piece of critical national infrastructure. Crucially, the system is built to international standards, specifically utilizing the global ISO 20022 messaging standard. Payments Canada has indicated its readiness to collaborate with the Bank of Canada, the European Central Bank (ECB), and federal regulators to begin the technical and strategic work of turning this shared vision into a reality. The goal is to create a seamless environment for individuals and businesses to transfer funds, invest, and conduct business across the Atlantic. | Merchant’s Eye

APX clients have already used digital-asset-backed loans to put money toward real estate projects, pay down high-interest debt and finance their businesses. Offering Bitcoin-backed mortgages are the natural next step: a product built for the single largest purchase most people will ever make. APX's Bitcoin-backed mortgages are being designed to let borrowers pledge their Bitcoin as collateral toward a home purchase, so they can keep their holdings and their exposure to Bitcoin's long-term potential. Full details, including eligibility, loan-to-value ratios, rates and terms, will be shared ahead of launch. People who join the waitlist will be the first to hear as the rollout opens. | Newswire

These operations are: Overnight Repo and Overnight Reverse Repo operations | Two-week Term Repo | Overnight Standing Repo Facility | Securities Lending Program. This decision supports the continued effectiveness of the Bank’s monetary policy implementation operations and helps promote market functioning and liquidity in an evolving GoC bond and repo market. GSD status alone does not provide automatic access to these operations. Eligibility will be determined at the Bank’s discretion. To become eligible, a GSD must join the Canadian Collateral Management Service tri-party platform and demonstrate and maintain sufficient market activity in GoC primary, secondary and repo markets. Eligible GSDs will be subject to lower participation limits than Primary Dealers, as indicated in the terms and conditions for each applicable operation. | Bank of Canada
The Bank of Canada is inviting feedback on draft supervisory guidelines related to accreditation that will support its supervision of participants in Canada’s Consumer-Driven Banking Framework. These are the first in a series of supervisory guidelines the Bank plans to issue as the framework is developed and will be followed by consultations on additional draft guidelines. The consultation gives stakeholders an opportunity to comment on the clarity, practicality and completeness of the proposed guidance, including implementation considerations and areas where additional detail may be useful. | Bank of Canada
The feature was brought to life by Scotiabank’s Canadian Banking Digital, Data & Analytics team with support from the Bank’s Cards, Loyalty, Payments & Client Experience team, respectively led by Todd Copeland, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer and Simona Salter, Executive Vice President, Cards, Loyalty, Payments & Client Experience. Since its launch, the feature has powered millions of transactions, appeared in 95% of Scotia app visits and engaged more than 22% of active mobile banking clients. Around 77% of actions initiated through predictive prompts result in completed transactions, with bill payments recording a completion rate above 92%. The feature simplifies routine payments by presenting prompts at relevant moments. “The most meaningful innovation is the kind that makes everyday banking more intuitive for clients. This solution was built to help clients manage payments more easily, with intelligent prompts that are timely, relevant and practical.” | The Digital Banker
Clients can start the process directly in the TD app, where they can select another financial institution and securely request a transfer into their TD account. Once the transfer request is accepted through the other financial institution, funds can appear in the client's TD account within seconds in most cases. The experience brings previously separate steps into a single, guided digital journey. The launch builds on TD Digital Direct Deposit, introduced earlier this year, and together the two capabilities help simplify important steps involved in switching everyday banking to TD, from redirecting a paycheque to moving money to fund a TD account. | TD

RBC said last week that it would block third-party personal AI agents from directly accessing its digital properties, after similar moves by U.S. lenders. Customers can authorize AI agents – semi-autonomous AI entities that carry out instructions from humans, such as Meta’s popular AI agent Muse – to access their bank accounts, transaction history and data to analyze spending patterns and make recommendations. BMO made the decision last week to bar the technology in order to safeguard clients. TD Bank said it has blocked all third-party personal AI agents from direct access to banking information where authentication is required while it ensures the appropriate safeguards are in place. | The Globe and Mail
Since the July Monetary Policy Report, global economic activity has remained resilient, despite higher energy prices. In the United States, the economy continues to grow at a robust pace, supported by consumer spending and AI-related investment. Given the ongoing resilience of the global economy, the Bank has revised up global GDP growth slightly to 3.1% in 2026, while growth in 2027 and 2028 remains unchanged from the July projection at 3.2%. Global financial conditions have tightened since July. Advanced economy sovereign bond yields are higher. Equity and credit markets have been volatile due to uncertainty about the outlook for the AI sector. | Bank of Canada
The new in-house solution, Receivables Matching, focuses on the "last mile" of the payment cycle: the reconciliation of incoming funds against outstanding invoices. The tool is built to integrate with a business's current infrastructure, meaning companies do not need to replace their existing technology stacks to implement the automation. It functions by automatically pairing incoming payments with remittance and accounts receivable data through configurable matching logic. The primary objective is to accelerate the speed at which businesses can apply cash. In corporate accounting, identifying which specific invoices an incoming payment is intended to cover is often a manual, error-prone process. Early implementation data suggests significant operational improvements for corporate users. | Merchant’s Eye
The Transaction reinforces EQB's focus on high-growth opportunities with strong strategic fit and attractive long-term returns. Bennington is a leader in the Canadian equipment leasing industry, relying on a network of brokers. As at July 31, 2026, its aggregate portfolio included approximately $1.1 billion in lease receivables. Contribution to earnings for the trailing 12 months ended July 31, 2026, was not material. Under the terms of the agreement, Desjardins will acquire 100% of the shares of Bennington at a price equivalent to a discount of approximately 8% of lease receivables. The Transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions. EQB and Desjardins will work together to ensure a smooth transition. In connection with the transaction, National Bank Capital Markets is acting as financial advisor and McCarthy Tétrault LLP is acting as legal advisors to EQB. | EQB

Investment teams, portfolio managers, investment philosophies, and service teams remain unchanged. | TD
The campaign comes as new TD research reveals a significant confidence gap among Gen Z Canadians.
