Standard Chartered launches blockchain-based tokenised deposits solution. Standard Chartered Bank under the Supervisory Incubator for Distributed Ledger Technology and Project Ensemble launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority has successfully tokenised HKD, CNH and USD accounts of Ant International on the latter’s blockchain-based, real-time treasury management platform – the Whale platform, following the completion of HKD-denominated blockchain test settlement for Ant International last year. Intact Insurance reveals that international women's ice hockey champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Ella Shelton will join short track speed skater William Dandjinou as an Intact Insurance athlete. The new partnership comes on the heels of Intact's multi-year national partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Team Canada, starting with the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games. Ella Shelton, who hails from Ingersoll, Ontario, made her impressive Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games where she helped Canada win a gold medal in women's ice hockey. Monzo secured a full banking licence from the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), marking a major step in growth and expansion. The approval enables the London-based bank to expand operations across European markets starting with Ireland, where it plans to establish its official EU headquarters in Dublin. The bank plans to offer Irish customers free personal, joint, business, children's and instant-access savings accounts managed through its mobile application. Each account will come with an Irish IBAN, providing customers with the confidence of a locally licensed bank. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) signed an agreement to establish a A$14 billion (€8 billion) European data centre partnership with Goodman Group, an Australia-based global industrial property and digital infrastructure group. The 50/50 Partnership involves an initial total capital commitment of A$3.9 billion (€2.2 billion) to develop a portfolio of data centre projects in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris.
