Fiserv Expands with Acquisitions of CardFree (U.S.) and AIB Merchant Services (Europe)
Fiserv has acquired CardFree in the U.S. and AIB Merchant Services (AIBMS) in Europe, strengthening its position across point-of-sale, e-commerce, and merchant services. These moves expand the reach of the Clover platform and reinforce Fiserv’s growth strategy in North America and Europe.
🌎 CardFree Acquisition
CardFree is a U.S.-based platform that provides order, pay, and loyalty solutions for restaurants and hospitality. By adding CardFree to Clover and Fiserv’s Commerce Hub, merchants gain advanced tools to manage complex, multi-location operations.
CardFree adds:
Mobile ordering and payments, including drive-through and kiosk options
Sub-inventory management plus integrations with loyalty, delivery, and property management software
Compatibility with many POS systems and processors, enabling unified checkout across channels
🌍 AIB Merchant Services Acquisition
In Europe, Fiserv has completed its purchase of the remaining 49.9% of AIB Merchant Services - one of Ireland’s largest payment providers and a major e-commerce acquirer. This deal strengthens Clover’s presence and creates more opportunities across the region.
